Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely generation and rendition of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and other reports required by management.
• Report on financial performance, analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, competitor monitoring and make recommendations for improvements.
• Reconciliation of the various general ledger accounts, ensuring in-depth investigation of errors and their prompt resolution.
• Monitoring and ensuring adequate control over financial administration, expenditure and assets management across all departments.
• Develop and maintain the monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget.
• Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division and weekly cash flow by division.
• Responsible for transforming financial statement to required format for statutory audit and regulatory bodies requirement.
• Identifying risks inherent in the business and advise on how best to mitigate same and ensure full compliance to requisite rules and regulations.
• Maintain office accounts in accordance with local legislation, oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns.
• Ensure compliance regarding all financial functions.
• Preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
• Monitor and control expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and budgets.

Requirements

• Minimum of B.Sc/HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline from a recognised institution.
• Must have relevant professional qualification (ICAN/ACCA/ANAN).

• At least 6 years relevant accounting and financial experience.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Understanding and up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements for financial reporting (including IFRSs) is an advantage.
